Questionnaire Analysis

Questionnaire Analysis

We surveyed some students at our college by using the questionnaires we prepared from an earlier lesson. Our purpose of this was to see what would appeal to our target audience. We found out that 50% were males and 50% were females, making it fair so that it was a balanced target audience.

We then went on the ask them if they have ever read the magazine, however 90% of people said that they had never read it, and some did not even know that there was one, this told us that the magazine was clearly not reaching out to the target audience as only a minor percentage of people actually knew what is was and wanted to read it.

We then acknowledged what they had to say about the magazine and asked them what would influence them into reading it, the most popular answers consisted of fashion, music, job advice, events and sporting activities, and this helped us realise that if we want to entice people to read the magazine then we were going to have to make it have these features in which they mentioned, so that more people would be influenced into having a look.

It was interesting to notice that 60% if people said that they would rather have a monthly magazine rather than every term or every week, this helps with our understanding that they want it on a monthly basis rather than overpowering them with too much information on a weekly basis.  60% of our target audience said that they would not purchase the magazine if it had a price on it, however 40% said they would buy it but at a small price, and therefore we can understand that a very small price could work.

We then went on to ask them if they would like to contribute to the making of the magazine and 40% of the people we surveyed said that they would contribute to it, so that is roughly 720 students that would be interested in getting involved.  I asked the observers what would attract them into buying the magazine and many said they want good strong images, bright titles with an arty outlook and a good use of colour. I then questioned them on what colours they thought would be the most beneficial to people of our age group and the most popular, were blue, red, pink, white and purple, and therefor this is helping me when I design mine as I want to attract this type of target audience.

Overall I can see that students want an informative magazine, with bright colours and pictures which give them advice on how to get through college.
